Partying Like Rock Stars

We have had a lot to celebrate lately. It started the beginning of April with Oliver's baby blessing. We decided it was finally time. We wanted to have his blessing before he started walking. We had the blessing at our house. Lots of family and friends came and it was a lot of fun to see everyone. This is Ollie in his blessing outfit.
The next occasion was Laila's birthday. She turned 3 on April 27th. We thought this would be a good excuse to take a trip to Disneyland. We told the kids that we were going to Las Vegas to visit our old friends and when we got there we told them we were actually going to Disneyland. They were so excited. We stayed at one of the Disneyland Hotels and they really treated her right for her birthday. They had Goofy call her and wish her a happy birthday. This is a pic of her talking to him. She was loving it.

Pluto Kissing Laila.

We had to wait in line for about an hour for this picture, but the girls thought it was worth it. Tinkerbell is Laila's favorite.

Jeff and Avery

This was Oliver's first trip to Disneyland. He was really good for us and he actually liked a lot of the rides.

We were surprised that Laila was tall enough to go on the Matterhorn. I wasn't sure how she would react to this crazy ride, but she liked it. She didn't even cry.

My mom and brother came along on the trip. This was the first time we have been on a trip with the kids that I wondered if we could have done it on our own. Four kids is a lot. We were so glad to have them along.

My sister who lives in Long Beach and her boyfriend Ryan came along. It was fun to spend time with them. The girls wouldn't leave Ryan alone, they love him.

Me, Jeff, and Ollie on Bugs Life.

We also went to Santa Monica Pier. Stella was thrilled to go on this trampoline bungee thing. The worker told her she looked like a ballerina up there.

Avery did it too, but you can see from the look on her face, she was a little more nervous. We had so much fun in California, but the fun didn't stop there. To be continued...

The Beginning

I have finally decided that it was time to start a blog. Mostly from the persuasion of our friends in Vegas, so we can keep in touch easier. Thanks to Kristine for helping me get it up and going before we left. I have had a lot of requests from people wanting to see our house, so here it is. I would have posted some pictures of the inside, but since we have decided to take on so many remodeling projects, it's better that nobody sees the inside right now. We have painted the entire house, put in new bamboo floors on the main floor, put wallpaper up on one wall, and we still have other things in the works. This has made the move more stressful, but it will be worth it when we are done. Everything is going well here so far. The kids like school and have made some friends, but we all miss our friends from Vegas. It takes so long to make good friends.

Oliver has just gotten coordinated enough to sit in his mega saucer. He loves it because he feels like he is standing up. He is laughing and smiling a lot now.

Laila got potty trained this week. I am really excited to only have to change diapers for one child. I had some pics of our moving days, but they were accidentally deleted...so more to come later.
